Should There be a Petition Asking the Watchtower Society to Retract its "Mentally Diseased" Statements?
by DT inof course, i would be very surprised if the watchtower society ever retracted or apologised for anything.
still, it could gain a lot of publicity and put pressure on them to curb their hate speech.
if they refuse to apologise, it could demonstrate that those statements were intentional and not just a slip of the printing press.

Things that made you cringe at "the meetings"
by i_drank_the_wine ini always cringed so hard when a "brother" or "sister" would make some overly heartfelt comment about jehovah-something, usually related to a personal experience of theirs, and get all teared up and/or start crying.. once this fringe dude that's been df'd twice now was giving a talk and kept having these long awkward pauses where he looked like he was real stressed out, then he would start up again, stutter, slip up, and repeat the process until he looked down and went "i, i just can't do this" and walked off the stage and left the hall.. it also made my spchincter pucker when a young person would give some super devotional comment on how much they love big j and whatnot, which would make the congregation all smile in their hearts and wag their heads in approval..

Hearing speakers yack about how happy JWs were when half the people sitting there were suffering from depression.

HATE THE DEED OR HATE THE PERSON--WT Philosophy
by blondie inbased on this philosophy, should we be surprised that jws feel (wrongly) justified to hate people they have individually (without authority) judged.
the wts teaches that christendom is full of apostates.
i wonder why they even bother to "preach" to non-jws.. *** w93 10/1 p. 19 par.

They say "in the Biblical sense"...but they didn't say what the biblical sense was, at least not right there. They have an "out" there though. Does anyone have all their quotes about hating people? Becuase I only remember them defining the "biblical hate" once...and the rest of the time they didn't.

A speaker recently put down The Who's My Generation...as if "I hope I die before I get old" was a suicide wish! Puh-lease!
His talk kept bringing up "don't blame the older generation for any problems!"
I love that song too.

GB conspiracy theory
by N.drew inmaybe 100 plus years ago there was a secret group of carnal men but they just had to know what the bible means.
the curiosity was killing them.
we know they do not know it, so two troops have been formed against them.

Maybe 100 plus years ago there was a secret group of carnal men but they just had to know what the bible means. The curiosity was killing them. We know they do not know it, so two troops have been formed against them. They who say the bible doesn't mean anything, and them who are not happy being tricked like that. Maybe even Russell had little to do with it all being the poster child for what the hell? Just maybe they are so secret, some of them are still believing somebody will make sense of it all. The best way to find out a secret is to tell a lie about it. Maybe it's an evil plan hatched by who?
That's what she said.

"My Ex wife". Lol. Classic.
Hearing the kids say "mommy, no, I'm sorry" as they were dragged off to get spanked just becuase they got a little whiny or restless.
Crying comments, often VERY phony ones.
And once I was at a funeral at the hall (ok, not a meeting, but still) and two young brothers were loudly joking, after the memorial talk for the person, about a stupid movie. I thought it was very cold and rude.
